Operując na ciągach tekstowych, często istnieje potrzeba zmiany wielkości liter w danym tekście tak by wyświetlały się np. same drukowane znaki. Służą do tego dwie podstawowe funkcje.

Aby zmienić wielkość liter na małe użyj funcji strtolower().

Przykład 1:

Kod: php

  <?php
$wynik=strtolower($string);
echo $wynik;
?>
 

Skrypt przekształci wszystkie litery w zmiennej $string na małe i je wyświetli.

Aby zmienić wielkość liter na małe użyj funcji strtoupper().

Przykład 2:
